For next generation mobile networks, a full-duplex (FD) radio is being envisioned which can transmit and receive at the same time in the same frequency band. If commercially feasible, it can double the bandwidth for the wireless carriers! We have a working IC that is able to operate in full-duplex. We have done some preliminary measurements using a Raspberi Pi and/or an Alterra board. The student will work with off-the-shelf components and our IC, write an automatic measurement script, and conduct RF experiments. Knowledge of either C or Verilog is necessary. Prior experience with PCB design and soldering is preferred, but not necessary. |
