LW-1 Available Interference Management for 5G Networks
Next-generation wireless networks aim to enable order-of-magnitude increases in connectivity, capacity, and speed. Such goal can be achieved in part by utilizing larger frequency bandwidth or deploying denser base stations. However, as the number of wireless devices is exploding, it is inevitable that multiple devices communicate over the same time and spectrum. Consequently, mitigating the interference in concurrent transmission becomes the key challenge to future wireless systems. In this project, we develop a novel interference management scheme for 5G user case such as ultra reliable low latency communication.
LW-2 Available Polar Coding in 5G Cellular Network
Invented by Arikan in 2007, polar codes are the first family of error correcting codes that achieve Shannon's capacity for discrete memoryless channels. Recently, polar codes were adopted in the 5G New Radio standard. This project aims to study the performance of polar codes in various 5G environment, such as an interference network, MIMO Gaussian channel, among others.
