I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. Earlier, I spent almost 10 years in industry, working for IBM Research, where I was a research staff member and a research group manager.
My research interests are in quality, security, and reliability of software and AI systems. Together with my research group, I develop automated solutions for analyzing, auditing, and improving software and AI systems. This includes reliable and explainable approaches for malware detection and localization; code management techniques that combine generative AI capabilities with program analysis and formal reasoning; and technology for enabling regulatory compliance of AI.
Our recent work has been recognized by numerous academic and industrial awards listed below. More details about our current and past reseach projects can be found on the ReSeSS Research Lab and Publications pages.
Prospective Students: I usually have openings in my group for new graduate and undergraduate students. If you often find yourself curious why things work in a certain way and want to explore problems in great depth, please consider applying. Please read this if you are interested in taking the next step.
Reference Letters: please read this if you are a student who would like to ask for a reference letter.
