Prospective Masters and PhD Students

If you are interested in joining my research group, a formal application to the ECE department is necessary; see the graduate programs and admission processes for more information.

You are welcome to send me an email, introduce yourself, and describe your interests and expertise. Please use "Prospective <Master/PhD> Student for <Fall/Winter> <Year>" as the subject. Please also attach your CV and university-issued transcripts from your current and previous degrees. Please do not be discouraged if I do not reply immediately; I might just be postponing review of applications until the usual decision-making schedule. I will look at all applications that indicate me as a potential advisor. Evidence of research aptitude (projects, publications, or even just well-formed thoughts about your research interests) and a description of how your interests align with the work done in my research group will strengthen your application substantially.

Prospective Undergraduate and MEng Students

If you are a UBC undergraduate or MEng student interested in doing a research project in my group, please feel free to send me an email and include your CV, current and previous university-issued transcripts, the current courses that you take, and a brief statement of your research interests. Please use "<Undergraduate/MEng> student interested in research experience" as the subject.
