Prospective Masters and PhD Students

If you are interested in joining my research group, a formal application to the ECE department is necessary; see the graduate programs and admission processes for more information.

You are welcome to send me an email, introduce yourself, and describe your interests and expertise. Please use "Prospective <Master/PhD> Student for <Fall/Winter> <Year>" as the subject. Please also attach your CV and university-issued transcripts from your current and previous degrees (which include course average grade and number of students, when such information is available). Please do not be discouraged if I do not reply immediately; I might just be postponing review of applications until the usual decision-making schedule. I will look at all applications that indicate me as a potential advisor. Evidence of research aptitude (projects, publications, or even just well-formed thoughts about your research interests) and a description of how your interests align with the work done in my research group will strengthen your application substantially.

Prospective Undergraduate and MEng Students

If you are a UBC undergraduate or MEng student interested in doing a research project in my group, please feel free to send me an email and include your CV, current and previous transcripts (which include course average grade and number of students), the current courses that you take, and a brief statement of your research interests. Please use "<Undergraduate/MEng> student interested in research experience" as the subject.
