Two papers accepted to appear at the 54th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Microarchitecture (MICRO): The first, Intersection Prediction for Accelerated GPU Ray Tracing explores how to improve ray tracing accelerators like those found in recent GPUs (co-authored with current PHD students Lufei Liu, Yuan Hsi Chou, and Mohammadreza Saed along with UBC undergrad research assistant Wesley Chang, former MASc student Francois Demoullin and colleagues from Huawei). The second, AccelWattch: A Power Modeling Framework for Modern GPUs, provides an update to the widely used GPUWattch power model (co-authored with former UBC undergrad research assistant Scott Peverelle and colleagues at Northwestern and Purdue).
