RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am broadly interested in design of fault-tolerant massive multi-core integrated systems that enable pervasive, ubiquitous computing. During my studies at The University of British Columbia I have characterized the performance of network-on-chip communication structures, developed fast, efficient post-manufacturing test methods for network-on-chip systems, and designed methods for achieving fault-tolerance in networks-on-chip at link level, transport level, and application level.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

09/2001 – present               Research Assistant, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British

                                                Columbia

11/2005 – 12/2005             Visiting Researcher, Fault Tolerant Computing Group, University of Potsdam, Germany.

I performed research in performance analysis of fault tolerant schemes for network on

                                                chip infrastructures.

08/1997 – 08/2001             Research Engineer, Electrical R&D Institute (ICPE S.A.), Bucharest, Romania

I developed automated systems for parametric measurements of electric and electronic devices and components used in gyroscopic targeting systems.

09/1996 – 07/1997        Research Assistant, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Signal Processing Laboratory, Technical University of Iasi, Romania.

Responsibilities included running numerical simulations, computer system maintenance.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

05/2007 – present               Sessional Instructor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British

Columbia. Courses: Digital Systems Design (EECE353), Introduction to Microcomputers

                                                (EECE259).

09/2002 – 04/2007             Teaching Assistant, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British

Columbia. Courses: Digital Integrated Circuit Design (EECE 481), Discrete Mathematics and

Algorithms (EECE 320), Project Integrated Program (PIP).

Responsibilities include tutorials, marking, and exam invigilation.

01/2005 – 07/2005            Graduation project supervision: I supervised six international students from Université du Montpellier, France, completing final graduation projects.

09/1996 – 07/1997             Teaching Assistant, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Technical University of

Iasi, Romania. Courses: Digital Circuits Design, Adaptive Signal Processing, Data Acquisition.
