My name is Qiang Tang. I am a Ph.D. graduated from the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. My supervisors were Dr. Rabab Ward and Dr. Panos Nasiopoulos. They are both professors of ECE at UBC. I joined the Image Processing Lab of UBC that is led by Dr. Rabab Ward in September 2004. From 2006, I also became a member of Digital Multimedia Lab that is led by Dr. Panos Nasiopoulos. Before I came to UBC, I obtained my B. E. and M. E. degrees from Tianjin University (TJU), Tianjin, China in 2001, 2004 respectively.
My research interests include next generation video coding, 3D video processing, video transmission and transcoding. I have been working on the video coding/transcoding and processing for over 7 years. My general resume is given as below. The more detailed version can be downloaded from here.
