Past Projects
Wave to Interact: Using Camera Phones as Navigation Devices

At MAGIC lab, in collaboration with Panasonic San Jose Lab. May 2007 – August 2008

  • Developed on-phone applications that estimate and make use of hand movements based on the on-board camera feed

 

Real-time Multiple Objects Tracking in Smart Room Environment.

At MAGIC lab and HCT lab, in collaboration with Panasonic San Jose Lab. May 2007 – August 2008

  • Developed algorithms combining face recognition with human tracking for real-time sensing of multiple users’ identities and locations
  • Enabled hand/body gesture interaction with large displays using the algorithm
  • User study of the above vision-based large displays

 

Plastic Surgery Based on Medical Image Analysis and Data Mining

  • Reconstruction of arbitrary 2D planes from 3D volumetric data
