funny video
Welcome to Nicky's Homepage

My most recent photo! It was taken at my grad
ceremony.
You can probably tell that I made this homepage myself because it looks so *cheap*. Now that you know who I am, I will tell you a little about myself!
I have recently graduated from my Masters program in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at the University of British
Columbia. The courses I have studied are:
- EECE 456 - Computer Communications
- EECE 545 - Data Compression
- EECE 560 - Network Analysis
- EECE 563 - Wireless Communications
- EECE 564 - Estimation and Detection of Signals in Noise
- EECE 565 - Data Communications
- EECE 566 - Communication and Information Theory
- EECE 569 - Mobile Communication Networks
Some courses I've TA'ed for are:
- Elec 453 - Communicaion Systems (Term 1, 2002)
- Elec 359 - Signals and Communications (Term 1, 2000, Term 2, 2002,
and Summer 2002)
- Elec 457 - RF Electronics (Term 2, 2001)
- Elec 466 - Digital Signal Processors (Summer, 2001)
- Elec 456 - Computer Communications (Term 1, 2001)
TA'ing includes marking assignments, giving tutorials, invigilating
quizzes, midterms, and final exams, and marking exams. I enjoy TA'ing
very much and helping students as much as I can with what little
knowledge I possess. :)
The focus of my courses will provide for me a pool of knowledge in the
field of Wireless Telecommunications, particularly in W-CDMA for UMTS.
Some of my interests include reading (particularly Sci-Fi and Mystery),
playing tennis and badminton, skiing, (and most recently) snowboarding (learn how
to snowboard), pool (both H20, 8-ball, and snooker), FOOSBALL, and just about everything in
between. Oh, I like school, too! Seriously. :)
Currently, I am a full-time student (Not really! I'm working full time
now but am just too lazy to change anything on this page...)
Previously,I was working as a summer co-op student at Nortel Networks, in
the Core RF Engineering team. With this department, I've worked in
Richardson, Texas, and Redmond, Washington. My previous work terms have
included work at Abatis Systems Corporation in Burnaby, BC (now Redback
Networks), and also at Nortel Networks (then called Northern Telecom) in
Ottawa. For those of you heading off to T.O. and Montreal, don't forget
to check out 747 and Atlantis!!
Well, that's about all you'll want to know from me. Take a look around, even
though there really isn't much to see YET!
Here are some of the links that interest me.
