BackgroundI was raised on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. After graduating from high school, I studied electrical engineering at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. In 2002, I moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to do a Masters of Applied Science degree in the Robotics and Control Lab (RCL) at the University of British Columbia. My research focused on image processing for prostate brachytherapy, which inspired my interest in medicine. Since September 2005, I have been a medical student at the University of British Columbia. I have returned to the RCL to work on a couple of research projects for the summer of 2006. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, hiking and walking my dog, JJ. |
