From Cusco we flew down to southern Peru, crossed the border and took a long distance bus down to central Chile (in one of the extremely comfortable and very affordable 'salon carma' sleeper buses). Our first stop was in the Chilean lake district - a national park east of Temuco called Conguillío National Park home of the Llaima volcano
