This is a typical view from our time in Greece. We spent
lots of time in the islands, and usually rented a moped as a means to get
around. It turned out much cheaper than using the public transit system,
and left us to go where we pleased. It seemed safe on the smaller islands
anyway, since there wasn't much traffic. When we reached Crete however,
we decided it would be safest to leave the mopeds be.
While we were there, it seemed that the sun shone every day, the sky
was always blue and the sea even bluer!

For the three weeks while we were in Greece it seemed
like the wind was blowing strong every day. Jan spent many hours looking
longingly at the ocean, hoping to see people windsurfing, and more specifically,
people renting out boards. While we were on Paros in the Greek Isles, Jan
finally got a chance to rent a windsurfer for two days.

This is the view from the balcony at the place we stayed
on Paros. It was a great little hotel right on the beach run by a very
friendly Greek family. It wasn't very busy so we got royal treatment. On
top of that, it only cost us $25 per night

These are two of the many churches we saw along the side
of the road as we were out exploring on our mopeds
