I have thoughts on my paramount but I want to take a picture (maybe this weekend) before posting them so this is OFF LIST. Here are my thoughts on my paramount - - - 1.  I can straddle the 25" but its hard on my genitals - in flip-flops I probably couldn't. 2.  My 1974 bike was purchased by a Lawyer after sitting in the shop for 2 years.  He had it converted to P15 components, campy brakes, barcons, Unicanitor saddle. 3.  When I got the bike in 1980 it had about 150 miles on it.  LIKE NEW.  A few black specs gone from the '531' decal and the 'S' in 'SCHWINN' 4.  Mine is a P13-9, and yes when I pedal hard the front derailleur rubs and I can never seem to get it perfect because - bottom bracket frame flex?  Or campy triple? 5.  Mine has original Araya 640-gram 27" steamroller wheels and cheap 27" tires and the frame is heavy and rides like a tank.  The tank feeling really kills the experience for me. 6.  I hate Unicanitor saddles.  Even though it's padded it's like sitting on a rock !!!  It's the only saddle that leaves me numb after a long ride ... 7.  I dislike it that the bike is silver.  I would also be unhappy with black or white - what's the point?  Schwinn colors are part of the Schwinn experience .. 8. The badging is bland. I really go for the english look with lug-lining and panels, lots of decals, there is hardly ANY badging on a paramount - as 531 decals + 2 more decals and DONE .... although mine does have white/black/white 3.5mm transition stripes for all 6 chromed stays ... So I feel like I'm getting only 60% of the schwinn paramount experience from all of these downsides ... - Don Gillies Palo Alto, CA ==== Schwinn Paramount Offers ===== peter koskinen - $2000 - chromed paramount, perfect condition. walla walla - $365 - sn-filed, bb mushroomed, black, headset, bb, cinelli new logo bar/stem, sf hubs, 206-618-7011 jacob renton - looking for 25" paramount. via charles nighbor, 23" repainted silver blue, no decals, $1500, sacramento via charles nighbor, 23" white, $700 frame only via charles nighbor, 24" orange repaint / lugs painted, $975 laguna hills doug charles in washington, 24", black, 1971 repaint as 1977, $900, crank stamped, hard plastic unicanitor, needs rear qr, needs inner chainring. - no toolkit - needs rear qr - $40 (he found it) - needs inner chainring - $40 - weird ID no / stamp on crankset - i offered him $800.
