Only Question 2 was marked. The maximum mark was 6.

Marks were assigned as follows:

• 1 mark for identifying the first computer as a DCE
• 1 mark for a explaining why
• 1 mark for identifying the second computer as a DCE
• 1 mark for a explaining why
• 2 marks for a diagram of a null modem showing that pins 2 and 3 are reversed
