Marking of Final Exam
Marks were awarded for each question as follows:
- Question 1 (14 marks)
-
- 4 declaration input/output signals for each of two registers
- 3 test register input (for reset=1, high=1, high=0)
- 2 delta register input (for reset=1, reset=0)
- 2 process (syntax, if/else, assignments)
- 2 test_out, done signal assignments
- 1 syntax
- Question 2 (14 marks)
-
- 2 save and restore registers
- 3 initialize, increment or decrement, conditional branch
sample count
- 2 initialize, and increment pointer into buffer (may
be combined with above)
- 2 output to LS bit of control register
- 3 input, AND mask and conditional branch on 'done' flag
- 2 input and store sample value
- Question 3 (17 marks)
-
There were 2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, and 2 marks respectively awarded for
the analysis of each of the 7 specifications (17 marks total).
For each specification half a mark (3.5 of the 17 marks) was
awarded for stating whether the specification was met or not
based on the margin (regardless of whether the computed value was
correct or not). If an incorrect equation was given no further
marks were awarded for that specification. If the correct
equation was given but the computed value or margin were
numerically incorrect, one mark was deducted.
- Question 4 (8 marks)
-
Two marks were awarded for the correct answer to parts (a) and
(b) (no partial marks). One mark was awarded for each answer to
the two questions in parts (c) and (d).
- Question 5 (14 marks)
-
- (a) one mark for each correct answer (6 marks)
- (b) one-half mark for each correct answer (4 marks)
- (c) one mark for the each correct answer (2 marks)
- (d) one mark for each correct answer (2 marks)
