Marking of Mid-Term Exam

Each question was marked out of 10. Marks were assigned as follows:

Question 1

• 2 for declaration and library statements
• 2 for incrementing the angle
• 2 for registering the angle with a process
• 2 for generating the correct spark output
• 2 for resetting the angle at TDC (1 if done at 359 degrees)

Question 2

• 1 for register save/restore
• 2 for setting DS:BX to correct physical memory location
• 2 for moving the correct number of bytes
• 2 for loading the right bytes
• 2 for outputting the byte correctly
• 1 for the return instruction

Question 3

• 4 for section (a):
  • 1 for correct number of bits
  • 1 for correct bit pattern
  • 1 for VHDL syntax
  • 1 for correct VHDL
• 4 for section (b):
  • 1 for "locations 45 and 46"
  • 1 for "2 write cycles"
  • 1 for "45 is 34H and 46 is 12H"
  • 1 for "1212H"
• 2 for section (c):
  • 1 for choosing SRAM
  • 1 for a reasonable justification
