Chia-Yang Chiang

Chia-Yang Chiang was born in Taiwan. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2004 and 2006, respectively. During 2006-2008, he was at the National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan, lecturing undergraduate courses. Since September 2008, he has joined the Information theory and Systems Lab at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of British Columbia. His present research interests include performance evaluation in multicarrier mobile communications systems, wireless cooperative network, and modulation design for broadband wireless access.

During his master program, Chiang worked on low-density parity check code (LDPC) and density evolution. Prof. Hsiao-feng (Francis) Lu was his supervisor. In 2008, he started pursuing Ph.D. at the Electrical and Computer Department of the University of British Columbia. He is working with Prof. Vijay K.Bhargava.

From April, 2012 to April, 2013, Chiang worked with standards and advanced technologies team in Intel Corp. as an exchange research scholar.
