Junbin ZHANG (Thomas)

I am a PhD student in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. I am working for UBC Digital Multimedia Lab (DML), adviced by a nice supervisor Dr. Panos Nasiopoulos.

I received my M.A.Sc degree also from UBC, under the supervision of Dr. Julia Rubin. Before coming to UBC, I received two B.Eng. degrees (as a "2 + 2" program) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Sun Yet-sen University.

Research Interests:

  • My PhD is focused on multimedia technology (e.g., high dynamic range, tone mapping, virtual reality).
  • I worked on mobile security and privacy (e.g., static taint analysis) for my master's degree.
  • My other research interests include computer vision and machine learning.
