Background

Shahrzad Rostamirad completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with Energy System specialization at UBC where she was named to the Dean's Honour List multiple times. Shahrzad continued on into UBC Power and Energy lab to pursue a Master of Applied Science under the supervision of Dr. Jose R. Marti in 2009. She defended her thesis titled "Intelligent Load Shedding Scheme for Frequency Control in Communities with Local Alternative Generation and Limited Main Grid Support" in June 2011.
