Varkala

Small beach town resort in Kerala
Main Languages: Malayalam & English

Varkala was the place I had the best time in India.  It is a small town on the coast of Kerala way down south in India.  I took a bus ride from Cochin to Qiullon and then another bus to Varkala from there.  I go there once it was dark and getting a place was a bit of a struggle as I got lost.  Anyway, ended up meeting these guys who were all my age and running businesses such as a guest house, internet cafe, tourist centre.  so we became good friends and I ended up staying in Varkala for a week and joined them on a road trip to Allepy.  This was all between December 2-9.

Varkala Beaches

the beach in Varkala is lines by an awesome cliff.  The cliff is lined with shops, restaurants and hotels so the beach can be seen no matter where you are.

Varkala Sunsets

The sunset over the beach is amazing and I went nuts taking pictures of the sunset from the cliff edge

Varkala Miscellaneous

Since I spent a week there, I met so many people and shoppers and just hung around during the days talking to people.

Varkala Friends

Met some awesome guys there that I could party and hang out with - Sooraj, Hamy, Jinu, Ganesh and Kalkal to mention a few.  I also met Tarinee and everyone thought she was my wife, which is obviously the only explanation when you see two Indians of opposite sex hanging around together!
