South Asia Trip (Sept - Dec 2002)

Hill Stations in North Pakistan

My cousin Khurrum and I took a day trip from Islamabad to the various hill resorts and stations north of Islamabad.  we went to four distinct spots and spent the day enjoying good food, excellent views and scenery, good company from our two drivers and good music.

Hill Station Misc

The scenery we saw as we drove was breath taking.  our last stop was Murree, which is known as the Queen of Hills and is a commercial town where you can get all kinds of Kashmiri and Phatani arts and crafts.

PC Bhurban

The PC stands for Pearl Continental, which is a 5 star hotel that was built to attract people to this hill.  We went to the hotel and walked around and had coffee.

Patriata

This resort has been built on Patriata Ridge at 2223 metres, the highest point in the Punjab province.  There is a dual chairlift and cable car system for a total dist. of 3.1 km.

Jhelum River

The border of Pakistan and Aazad Kashmir (free Kashmir) is defined by a river and it is a good picnic spot.
