Previous Announcements

• I will be in my office (MCLD 451) on Monday, December 4 and on Wednesday, December 6 from 1:30 to 4:30 to answer questions.
• Important: Anyone who has not completed all labs must notify me immediately. I will schedule a time for you to demonstrate (only) these labs on Wednesday (November 29) or Friday December 1.
• Since we only had one assignment, the final exam mark will be substituted for the assignment mark if the final exam mark is higher.
• How the mid-term exam was marked.
• The data sheet for the Lattice GAL16V8 (in PDF format).
• You can use a demo version of the CUPL version 4.8 "Starter Kit": W48starter.ZIP (about 1Mbyte) to do Lab 5.
  If you don't have a program to `unzip' the file you can use unz532x.exe.
  To install the program you can use the key listed here.
• How assignment 1 was marked.
• The class has unanimously agreed to change the course marking scheme so that the final exam mark will be substituted for the mid-term mark if the final exam mark is higher.
• The 8051 cross-compiler for Lab 4 is available as a self-extracting DOS executable, 51demo.exe.
• Assignment 1 is due at 8:30 AM on Friday, October 20. The solutions will be handed out in class and no late assignments will be accepted.
• The mid-term exam has been scheduled for Monday, October 23 at 8:30 AM.
• The web pages for previous versions of this course are available at: (Jan. '99) and (Jan. '98).
• The preliminary exam schedule shows the final exam for EECE485 section 101 on Dec 7 at 3:30 pm in BIOL 2000.
• Lab section L1B currently scheduled for Mondays at 13:00 has been moved to Tuesdays at 10:00. The change will not show up in Telereg for at least a week.

  If you wish to register for a different lab section, please do so through Telereg. If you have found someone else who wishes to exchange lab sections with you (and you don't want to synchronize drop/add Telereg transactions), please arrange for both people to e-mail the lab TA (atas@ece.ubc.ca) and myself (edc@ece.ubc.ca) with the lab section change information.

  Please let me know if you still have not been able to register for a lab section.

• Beginning on Friday, September 15 lectures and tutorials will be held in MacMillan (MCML) room 160.
