Tour of BCIT Network Facilities on Wednesday, April 4, 2:30 to 4:00 PM

2018-03-17

Instead of a final lab we will go on a tour of BCIT's network facilities on April 4 from 2:30 PM to (about) 4 PM.  BCIT's network is typically of what you would find a medium-sized organization and this will be an opportunity to see examples of much of the material you've been learning in ELEX 4540 and 4550.

We will get a presentation explaining the organization of the network before the tour.   You'll also be able to ask questions of our host, Doug Woodley, who is a networking expert and is responsible for much of BCIT's network planning.

PKI Lab will be March 21 and 23

2018-03-18

Unfortunately, the lab schedule had Easter Friday scheduled on the wrong week.

The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) lab will be held on March 21 and 23.

There is no pre-lab assignment for this lab but you should read the lab (Lab 8 - Public Key Infrastructure) and the associated lecture (Communications Security Principles) so you have an understanding of what we'll be doing in the lab.  I'll review the material briefly and answer questions immediately before the lab.

You'll be working in pairs for this lab and should bring a USB "flash" drive to give the CSR to the CA and get back your signed certificate.

Reminder of Last Lab (BCIT Network Tour)

2018-04-03

Just a reminder that the tour of BCIT's network facilities on Wednesday afternoon (April 4) will count as a lab.

You will be marked on your attendance and answers to questions that will be given out after the tour.

Please let me know beforehand if you cannot attend.

Check your marks

2018-04-12

All labs have now been marked.  Please check your marks and let me know of any mistakes by next Wednesday (April 18).
